• Area = ½ (b₁ + b₂) h(b₁ = 1st base, b₂ = 2nd base, h = height)
PRACTICE PROBLEMS
Question 1 The top of a trapezoid is 5 in and the bottom is 10 in; the height is 3 in. What is the area?
-- Answer -- 45/2 in²
Area = ½ (b₁ + b₂) h = ½ (5 + 10) * 3 = 15/2 * 3 = 45/2 in²
